According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Patriots sent cornerback Jack Jones to the injured reserve. They then decided to sign running back Ty Montgomery to the 53-man roster.

The more interesting news for the Patriots comes at quarterback. Multiple reports surfaced that the Patriots were going to waive recently signed quarterback Matt Corral. Corral missed Friday’s practice for a non-injury-related reason.
According to Pelissero, that isn’t the case. The Patriots added Corral to the reserve/left squad list. The Patriots can keep Corral off of waivers and open up a roster spot until Corral returns.

The drama at quarterback continues for the Patriots. They added Corral with the hopes the Carolina Panthers’ 2022 third-round pick would compete for the QB2 position.
It’s unclear as to why Corral missed Friday’s practice. But what is clear is that the Patriots have a lot to figure out at the QB slot.
