Golden Knights place Jake Leschyshyn on waivers
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

As a result of several players returning from injury over the past week, the Vegas Golden Knights announced on Tuesday that forward Jake Leschyshyn has been placed on waivers.

Leschyshyn, 23, has appeared in 22 games with the Golden Knights this season, but has yet to record a point over that span while averaging just 9:36 minutes in ice time. In the 41 games he was able to suit up for with the Golden Knights a season prior, he managed two goals and six points.

Though his NHL stats certainly aren’t spectacular to this point, there is a chance that a team is willing to take a flier on Leschyshyn. Not only is he extremely affordable with a cap hit of just $766,667 through the 2024-25 season, but he has also proven to be a very good offensive player at the American Hockey League level. In 34 games with the Henderson Silver Knights a season ago, he managed 14 goals and 27 points. The Golden Knights will hope Leschyshyn clears waivers in order to keep their solid center depth intact, but whether or not that happens remains to be seen.
