A successful rookie season from Brandt Clarke saw him make the AHL’s All-Rookie Team, representing the Ontario Reign.

The American Hockey League (AHL) announced their annual All-Rookie Team, and Clarke made the team. Two seasons ago, defenseman Jordan Spence was named to the All-Rookie Team. That season saw Spence lead all rookie defensemen in assists (38), points (42), power-play assists (24), and power-play points (26).

Clarke, the first-round pick by the LA Kings in 2021, has had no issues adapting from juniors to the AHL level. Perhaps playing in LA and Ontario (conditioning assignment) last year played a part in the familiarity of what to expect.

In 47 games with the Reign, Clarke has recorded 42 points (9 G – 33 A). Among rookie defensemen who have played at least ten games, Clarke is third in goals, tied for first in assists, second in points, and first in points per game with 0.89 while playing on the top defense pair. He also has 14 power-play points while quarterbacking the Reign’s first power-play unit. Clarke also played in 16 games for the Kings.

The AHL also announced that the first and second All-Star Teams will be announced tomorrow.

Congrats, Clarke!
